Canterbury Christ Church University

"Canterbury Christ Church University investigated the potential for using Turnitin through a pilot during Trinity term 2004/2005. University staff participating in the pilot voiced broad support for Turnitin, commenting that it was easy to use, was effective in detecting unoriginal material and could be useful in supporting procedures to deal with plagiarism.

Furthermore, staff suggested that Turnitin would be useful in educating students to avoid plagiarism and there was a strong view that Turnitin should be used primarily in this way. Following the success of the pilot, a license for the use of Turnitin was purchased for 2005/2006 and a phased approach to implementing its use in the University has begun."
